We can't believe it's already hitting November. It's almost a year since we took this leap into opening our own Social Media Company and we've been having a blast working with some insanely ecstatic clients.
We have learned so much along the way of running this business and it has been overwhelming at times and fun too. We've got flexible timing - but work all week (even when we are on holiday guys!!!). It's fun, yet it's a real job on its own - and needs a lot of hard work and hustle! It's crazy to see how much we have grown as a company and as individuals in the field from content creation, organically growing social media pages and how to translate the brand through their social media platforms effectively.
People are on social media the majority of their day, whether at work, home, or in school (yes, we know this is not good too!). But it's most definitely an avenue for business owners to reach markets and increase their brand awareness.
Social media marketing is a long and consistent journey, and commitment is needed to keep true to the brand image and vision. To build the following you need to know your target audience and build content that would appeal to them.
Well, we guess you'll just need to buzz us and we can talk more!
Happy Halloween and soon to be holidays peeps!
It has been a crazy month - we've been super swamped getting everything ready to move into Sdn Bhd.
Andddddddd, we are finally official - Fixie Dust Sdn Bhd!! (buy number XP)
It has been a nerve-racking experience for us to quit our full-time jobs and focus on growing our own company full-time. It was a risk, but ultimately, *fingers crossed*, a risk worth taking. The ups and downs, the tears and laughter, the snap fights - we are still standing strong (it does help that we both worked together before).
Of course, having to work with some of the most amazing people and building such a strong network of people we now call friends in our lives, they have supported us, pushed us, comforted us and picked us up when things were looking down. Friends and fam, we love you!
It has been a blast working with our clients - each with their own way of doing things and goals in mind. It is a lot of fun working with people that have such amazing visions for what they want to do and achieve for their brand. The downside though, we tend to end up getting a tad bit too clingy with the brands we look after! It's always a bittersweet experience when our clients move on *cries*.
We are hoping this sprinkle of Fixie Dust works for us, and hello to the world of Sdn Bhd!
(yeah, we know, we excited sangat)
It all started as we went helped a couple of friends run freelance - and we actually enjoyed the work.
We're both from different backgrounds, Akila from sales and then moved into Marketing. Being the 'Girl on Fire', she's feisty, confident and knows what she wants. Tanith, who started in Customer Service then moving onto Marketing is more emphatic, diplomatic and calm.
We both met in The BIG Group, a crazy playground where we managed to hone our skills in marketing, management, creative writing and so on. The BIG Group was one of the biggest and fastest growing F&B umbrella corporations hosting a variety of outlets - Ben's, Plan b, Ben's General Food Store, BEAST, Hit & Mrs, and of course, Ben's Independent Grocer at the time. It was a whirlwind and we certainly became close, due to the constant pressure to perform. Tears, sweat, and a whole lot of hard work eventually paid off when we both became Assistant Marketing Managers, Tanith of Marketing, and Akila of Benquet (the catering division of The BIG Group).
Since then, we've moved onto different ventures, both assuming the roles of Marketing Manager, Tanith in SOULed OUT Group and Akila in Bake To Play. Growing and further enhancing skills, at the end of 2017, we both decided to leave our full-time jobs, and try out our own homegrown business.
Fixie Dust is not about running social media for brands forever. We want to help brands, especially those who are less knowledgeable regarding social media - how to identify your brand, position it in the market and how to target your audience. We build brand tone and manner and overall translate your brand via your social media pages to the consumers. At the end of the day, sometimes, if budget allows, a social media personnel in house is much better - but till then, your Pixies are ever ready to help!
We came up with the whole name when we said we wanted to help 'fix' other's social media problems. And as two females moving into this venture, Fixie Dust seemed to fit the bill!
